  • Xbox Live + MSN Integration + Alerts + New Website = Me Scrambling!!!

Microsoft is in the final stages of upgrading that last pieces of the Tsunami (Live 3.0) version.  The last portion is the MSN Integration and Alerts... which should be available later today.  In the process of these changes, their website is making a few changes.  These changes are affecting Xbox Friends Thing ...

  • Xbox Friends Thing + Windows / MSN Messenger... Bringing the two together.

I've just finished adding the first round of features to Xbox Friends Thing that will bring in some features of Windows / MSN Messenger directly into the user interface.  New sets of icons to reflect those users who are online and in both lists.  The icons also reflect similar to those in MSN Messenger as their state changes.  Right ...

  • Rally Sport Challenge 2... Gorgeous! Awesome game play! Impressive physics! What a disappointment...

I've been playing this game for several days now and have a few comments.  I agree that the game deserves a 9.0 rating that The Official Xbox Magazine gave it... well... sort of. Yes, the game is visually stunning and is very enjoyable as a racing game.  The overall feel of the game is incredible, controls are very responsive and well ...

  • Xbox Friends Thing v1.0.6.0 Released

Xbox Friends Thing v1.0.6.0 has been running reliably on everyones machine that have been beta testing; so it's time to release it upon the masses.  After marking it as a live version, 10 people downloaded it immediately, so it looks like the update notification feature is working as well. ;-) I'm already hard at work on the ...

  • Xbox Friends Thing - New version on the horizon.

I've got the next release of Xbox Friends Thing just about ready to be released to the general public.  Now that there are over 2300 people using it, I've got to be a bit more careful about what I release ;-).  Currently, there are about 10 people testing the latest build and so far it's looking promising (beta is limited to ...

  • Xbox Friends Thing - Displaying gameplay usage statistics...

I'm experimenting with a handfull of ways of displaying the statistics that are being captured via Xbox Friends Thing as it sees your friends online and playing each game.  I'm limiting it to the last 30 days for and have broken it down into 15 minute chunks.  The main goal of this display is to be able to answer two questions: How ...

  • Bug? Feature? You be the judge...

While working on the xbox friends thing, I decided to create a clone of the user interface that Windows Messenger uses.  It's sort of like a treeview (or group box) and has a vertical scrollbar visible when the list is larger than the displayable area. So, I add a vertical scrollbar to the control and make it visible when the need arises.  Easy ...

  • XBOX Friends List (Pre-Release Version)

I'm making a pre-release version of the XBOX Friends List Watcher desktop application available for download.  You can have the list auto refresh periodically by selecting the Auto Refresh menu item and selected an interval.  F5 will refresh as well.  If you receive an error stating that the information cannot be retrieved, you are probably not ...

  • XBOX Live Friends List Watcher (Windows Forms)

A few of us on XBOX Live were discussing how nice it would be to have an application that you could have on your desktop that would notify you when one of your friends was online playing a game.  We kicked around a few ideas and we ran into several problems along the way.  Since the XBOX Live website doesn't offer web services we ...
