  • Windows Forms + Vista

Now that I'm running Vista (Beta 2), I'm obviously doing development in that environment as well.  A couple of things that I've noticed (and, honestly, haven't dug too deeply just yet... so these are initial impressions) is the following: 1. To get the cool “glowing” active command button effect, you need to set the FlatStyle of ...

  • Windows Vista...

Windows Vista Beta 2 was released last week and I am just now getting some free time to spend with migrating to it.  I already installed it on a Toshiba laptop last week, but was less than impressed since all the bells and whistles GUI wouldn't work on it even though it had an ATI 6100 series video card.  But not giving up just yet... ...

[update] Jeff and John (in the comments) commented with the correct answer... it's the fact that the upgrading experience has a mixture of components that are using XP theme support and others that aren't.  Anyway, it caught my eye while installing ...

  • System Restore....

OK, I knew that there was this thing called System Restore in Windows XP... however, I've never really needed it.... well, until now ;-) I installed an application developed by a co-worker and it basically destroyed “something” that caused the SDK for one of my hardware devices to stop working.  After some cussin'... someone suggested ...
