Free Network 'Sniffer' Tools
Not wanting to spend a fortune, I did some searching and came across a couple of free network packet/protocol analysis tools.
This one doesn’t require a driver to be installed in order to work. It’s very easy to install and operate. Right now, I’m leaning towards it for most of my tasks. Can’t knock user friendliness; I’d rather be working on my projects and not troubleshooting the installation of a tool ;-)
For those into the open source scene, there is Ethereal; but it requires the installation of an additional tool, the WinPcap packet capture driver.
