XboxFriends for the Desktop v1.1.0.70 (early beta)

I'm looking for a few people to test XboxFriends as thoroughly as they can before I release it publicly.  The release is very behind since I had to make it a priority to obfuscate the code to protect one of the newest features (which was a requirement for XboxFriends to work continuously).

If interested, you can download the .zip formatted file, extract it to some location and run it through it's paces.  If you find any problems, please send me a detailed message on how to reproduce it and I'll get it taken care of pretty quickly.  Now that I'm past the obfuscation roadblock, this project can start moving forward again. ;-)

I don't see any real improvements over the last version. Also, selected gamertags turn white (invisible).

Well, the first "real improvement" is that it's working (after the drastic changes made with the Xbox.com Xbox 360 launch). ;-)

Essentially what is included in this version is mostly internal changes. The new (GUI) features will be coming very soon. Along with those changes, the mysterious (on some machines) selected gamertag turning white issue will go away.

My goal with this release is to verify that, along with actually gathering the information from Xbox.com reliably, it stays connected to Xbox.com no matter what Passport goofiness is occurring.

Over the next weeks, I'll be implementing many new features to handle the additional features brought to us thanks to the Xbox 360 launch.

To save the avalanche of emails, two bugs have already been uncovered. Both issues have to do with the initial launch.

1. Initial launch and already signed into Xbox.com. For now, sign out of Xbox.com before launch XboxFriends for the first time. This will allow the signin prompt to become visible.

2. The first time you sign in, there is a refresh problem. When you see (after a few moments) notifications occurring and the screen is still showing the signin prompt, just use View/Refresh menu option to force the correction.

Again, both of these issues seem to only happen upon the very initial launch (e.g. installation).

So do you store the Passport info so you can keep signing in every time Passport logs you out? And doesn't your program communicate through your server? Why should I trust you with my Passport info?
